Installation Guide: Windows Native App

This section covers how to install the the Object Mount native application for Windows using a standard .exe installer.

System Requirements

Before you begin, make sure your PC meets the following system requirements:

  • Windows 10 or later (or Windows Server 2016 or newer)
  • Intel x86_64 or AMD processor (no ARM CPU support at this time)
  • At least 300MB of free disk space
  • Internet connection for mounting cloud-hosted buckets, or LAN connection for mounting local buckets

S3 Provider Support:

Object Mount for Windows fully supports S3 container services from Amazon Web Services, Storj, and other fully S3-compatible Object Storage providers.

Azure & GCS Support:

  • Support for Native Microsoft Azure Storage and Native Google Cloud Storage services are still under development in Object Mount for Windows.
  • For Google Cloud access: Using GCS S3 is recommended instead of using GCS S3 Gateways.
  • Native Azure and Native GCS (S3 Gateways) should be considered “experimental” at this time.

Step 1: Download the Latest Installer

Download the latest Object Mount .exe Windows installer program.

Note: Contact your 🌐 Storj Representative if you need access to the most up-to-date installer.

Step 2: Install the Object Mount App

Note: Administrative permissions are required to install some of the Object Mount components.

  1. Double-click the setup .exe program to start the installation.

  2. Follow the prompts to complete the installation process.
